The governor of the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi, has landed himself in hot water for recommending the "hot stuff" as part of his aid packaging. Governor Mike Sonko, tweeted that he would include a bottle of Hennessey in the aid packages, which in his regard, is a "throat sanitizer" and is according to elite health and science experts at the World Health Organization

However, according to the World Health Organization, the consumption of alcohol does not protect people from Covid-19, and should minimize its consumption as much as possible.

In South Africa, Police Commissioner Bheki Cele enforced and reinforced the prohibition of alcohol, as it encourages social gatherings and also is a negating factor for a strong immune system. Henessey slammed the claims made by the governor.

"Hennessy would like to stress that the consumption of our brand, or any other alcoholic beverage does not protect against the virus," they said.

South African Hip Hop/RnB sensation, Tshego's single "Hennessey" is a smash hit. On a different occasion, we would all be dancing and sanitizing our throats, but right now, it is definitely not an encouragement to drink Hennessey, or any other alcoholic beverage right.
