In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, which is affecting all corners of the earth, the United Kingdom isnt spared either.

The situation has been getting worse in the UK, with an infection rate of just under 48 000 people and a death rate reaching just under 5000 people by Sunday, 5th April 2020.

In a rare televised interview, The Queen took some time to address the public, as Prince Charles was diagnosed, along some royal staff members, causing widespread panic. This was followed by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson being admitted to hospital sometime during the course of her speech.

She compared the situation to that of World War II, which required personal sacrifice from each member of the nation, solidarity and unity being the eventual key ingredients for a victory.

She acknowledged those who have taken the social distancing measures seriously by staying at home as well as the first responders (health officicials/volunteers.)

Unity was and personal sacrifice was the order. "While we have faced, challenges before, this one is different," she stated." This time we join with all nations across the globe in a common endeavour using the great advances of science and our instinctive compassion to heal."

Although the situation is obviously critical and fears are looming, she by all means, tried to reassure the nation and the world at large.

"We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return. We will be with our friends again, we will be with our families again, we will meet again. For now I send my thanks and warmest good wishes to all."
